Annual General Meeting Results

Whitianga Resident’s & Ratepayers Association (WRRA) held its first Annual General Meeting on Monday 26th April, 2pm at Whitianga Town Hall.

Attended by 35% of our financial members along with several non-members interested in seeing what we do, the afternoon was a successful sharing of what WRRA has achieved in its first financial year and what we are looking towards in the future.

Proposed amendments to the Constitution were unable to be passed at the meeting as we require a minimum of 65% of fully paid up members to agree to these changes. As such, we will call a special meeting later in the year to readdress these. The proposed changes were largely aimed at simplifying procedures.

We would like to thank everyone who attended or passed in their apologies, our guest speakers Denis Tegg and Tracey May from Waikato Regional Council, Linda Cholmondley-Smith and Sheryll Fitzpatrick from Whitianga Social Services. Also a big thank you and welcome to Bess Kingi who agreed to join our committee.
